The Wuppertaler Schwebebahn (Wuppertal Suspension Railway) is a suspension monorail in Wuppertal, Germany. It first opened in 1901 and is the oldest electric elevated railway with hanging cars in the world. It has become a main landmark of Wuppertal and is known worldwide.
There are all kinds of merchandise for the Schwebebahn, reaching from post-stamps to bags to noodles to video games, but until now, there isn't a LEGO-model of it.
This model of the suspension railway takes the beautiful new blue rail cars (in use since 2016) as an example and tries to impersonate it as good as possible. It isn't true to scale, but playable with mini-figures. The interior is fully designed with seating and handrails as well as a fully fitted cockpit. The suspension and joints aren't usable - they're LEGO, after all.
The Model is set in a typical station, suspended from the beautiful rust-green and red rails.
