I am excited to submit my LEGO Ideas project inspired by the beloved animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. As a fan of both LEGO and the show, I saw an opportunity to bring a cherished character, Appa the flying bison, to life in brick form. This set is designed for fans of Avatar and LEGO enthusiasts alike, providing an immersive building experience with over 1500 pieces. Intended for ages 18 and up, this set offers intricate building techniques and unique bricks that will challenge and entertain builders as they assemble an iconic piece of the Avatar universe.

Description:

My LEGO Ideas submission is centered around Appa, the flying bison who is both Aang's loyal companion and a symbol of freedom and adventure in the series. This build is comprised of over 1500 pieces and includes six minifigures: Aang, Katara, Sokka, Zuko, Toph, and Uncle Iroh. Additionally, a brick-built ostrich horse is included, adding further depth to the set and providing an opportunity to recreate scenes from the show.

Appa's design features a high level of detail and functionality. His legs are posable, allowing him to be displayed in both flying and standing positions. His head and tail are also movable, enabling fans to capture various expressions and poses. Appa's saddle is removable, providing builders with the option to display him with or without it. This flexibility allows fans to truly immerse themselves in the world of Avatar and engage in imaginative play.

Construction of this set involves many SNOT (Studs Not On Top) techniques, as well as the use of unique bricks, challenging builders to think creatively and expand their building skills. These techniques result in a realistic representation of Appa, capturing his distinct look and personality from the show.
