"Thomas is a Tank Engine who lives at a big station on the Island of Sodor. He's a cheeky little engine with 6 small wheels, a short stumpy funnel, a short stumpy boiler and a short stumpy dome."
About the Project:
Created by the legendary Wilbert Awdry in 1946, Thomas is and has been beloved by children around the world and has become an icon for both kids and adults alike. To celebrate Thomas's 75th Anniversary, I created this project to pay tribute to this beloved little Tank Engine and the man who created it.
Due to the popularity of train sets in general and Thomas's popular status, I think this would make for a great IDEAS set! I designed this set using programs like Stud.io and Adobe Photoshop, along with PartDesigner to create the custom-printed pieces.
Like Thomas himself, this set is highly based on the (LB&SCR) E2 Tank Engine with additional details based on his appearance in both the Railway series and the classic TV series. Thomas includes a detailed interior that can easily be accessed by detaching the roof. The cabin features space for 1 Minifigure and a highly detailed furnace. Though too small for any motorized features, Thomas's chassis features a built-in gear mechanism to allow the wheels to rotate smoothly.
Set includes:
-
Thomas the Tank Engine
-
A 10x18 display stand
-
An exclusive Minifigure of Sir Topham Hatt (The Fat Controller)
-
10 new printed pieces (Including 4 different faces)
-
An alternate realistic Smokebox attachment
