Backstory of the project

Moomins have always been a big part of my life. Some of the first words I ever uttered as a toddler were the lyrics to the Moomin (1990) cartoon theme song. Decades later, after returning to LEGO and discovering the custom creation scene, I immediately wanted to make the Moominhouse! I spent most of my free time for a whole month designing and building it. It was quite challenging as it was my first custom build. I shared pictures of the finished build online, and the amount of love it received from thousands of Moomin fans all around the world was overwhelming. I was urged to submit my Moominhouse to LEGO Ideas, but it had nearly double the maximum amount of pieces allowed. So, even though I had just finished this massive project and planned to take a little break before building anything else - All the kind words of support from fellow Moomin fans motivated me to dive right back in and start designing a new less-than-3000-pieces version of my Moominhouse, with the goal of submitting it to LEGO Ideas. And here we are!

プロジェクトの経緯

生まれてこのかたずっと、僕にとってムーミンは特別な位置を占めていました。 まだぼくがよちよちのころ、始めてしゃべった言葉は「楽しいムーミン一家」の テーマソングの歌詞でした。あれから数十年ののち、レゴの世界に戻ってきて 自分だけのシーンが作れると知ったとき、すぐ頭に浮かんだのがムーミン屋敷です! ほぼ一ヶ月の間、空いた時間ほとんどをこれに費やして作りましたが、始めての 自作レゴはかなり大変でした。完成した写真をネットに投稿したところ、 世界中の数千人を超えるムーミンファンから応援の声が寄せられ、僕は圧倒されました。 そこでこの作品をレゴ・アイデアに提出しようとしたのですが、これは 許容範囲のほぼ倍のブロックを使ってしまっていたのです。ぼくはこの大作を終えて、 次の作品を作る前にひと休みしようと思っていたのですが、大勢のムーミンファンのご声援に 背中を押され、3000個以下のブロックを使った新バージョンのムーミン屋敷を 新たにデザインしてレゴ・アイデアに提出することにしたのです。その結果がこれです!

Detailed recreation

Both the exterior and interior are based on how the house looks in the Moomin (1990) TV series. All the rooms (living room, dining room, kitchen, guest bedrooms, Moominpappa’s office, Moomintroll’s bedroom, etc.) are in their accurate spots and all the recognizable exterior features like the porch, the cellar entrance, the woodshed and the ladder leading up to Moomintroll’s bedroom are there. The build consists of four modules; the 1st floor, the 2nd floor, the 3rd floor and the roof - the latter three of which can be lifted off in order to access all the interiors. The roof module also has an additional detachable top, so you can access Moomintroll's bedroom. The build uses a total of 2999 LEGO pieces.

細部にこだわった再現

家の外観および内装はどちらもアニメ「楽しいムーミン一家」のデザインを元にしています。 部屋 (リビングルーム、ダイニングルーム、キッチン、ゲストの寝室、ムーミンパパの書斎、 ムーミントロールの部屋など) の位置はすべて正確に再現してあり、玄関や地下室の入り口、 薪小屋などの特徴的な外観も作りこみました。ムーミントロールの部屋に上る梯子もあります。 セットは4つの部分から成り立っています。1階、2階、3階そして屋根です。 上部3層は取り外して内装を見ることができます。屋根にはさらに取り外し可能な天窓がついており、 ムーミントロールの部屋を直接見ることができます。このセットは 2999個の レゴ・ブロックを使っています。

Minifigures?

Moomins are uniquely shaped and cannot be accurately recreated using existing LEGO minifigure pieces, which is a LEGO Ideas restriction. That is why my project does not include minifigures outright, but I hope if we reach our goal and get approved, LEGO would consider producing at least the core family of Moomintroll, Moominmamma and Moominpappa to go along with the house. Other main characters that would fit the set include Snufkin, Snorkmaiden, Sniff and Little My.

ミニフィギュアは?

ムーミンはみなユニークな姿をしており、既存のレゴ・ミニフィギュアの部品では作ることができません。 これはレゴ・アイデアの制限によるものです。そのため、このプロジェクトでは今のところミニフィギュアは 含まれていませんが、もし目標に到達して承認が得られた際には、レゴ社が少なくとも主要な ムーミン一家のキャラクター、つまりムーミントロールやムーミンママ、ムーミンパパなどを 一緒に作ってくれるのではないかと期待しています。これ以外にも、主要なキャラクターである スナフキンやフローレン、スニフ、ミイなどがあれば引き立つでしょう。

What makes this a great LEGO set

People who grew up with Moomins would jump at the chance to buy a Moominhouse LEGO set for themselves or their kids, who are also growing up with Moomins thanks to the timeless books, re-runs of Moomin (1990), the new Moominvalley (2019) TV series, the Moomin theme parks, etc. The Moominhouse would make for a fantastic display piece or a fun set to play with and recreate your favorite Moomin scenes. I believe the set would be hugely popular, especially in countries like Finland, Japan, Sweden and United Kingdom.

これが素晴しいレゴのセットになりそうな理由

ムーミンを見て育った世代はみな、自分や、自分の子供達がさわれるようなムーミン屋敷の セットに心踊らせるのではないでしょうか。ムーミンの本は長きにわたって現代の子供にも 読み継がれており、テーマパークや、アニメの再放送や、2019年版にできた新しい 「ムーミン谷のなかまたち」の放送もあります。ムーミン屋敷のセットは置物としても 使えますし、お気に入りのシーンを再現したりなどの遊び方も可能です。 このレゴセットは日本、英国、スウェーデンおよびフィンランドなどの国で とくに人気を博すのではないかと期待しています。

投票の仕方

LEGOアイデアは英語のみのサイトです。本プロジェクトに投票していただくには、LEGOアイデアの アカウントを作成していただく必要があります。すでに********やGoogle、Appleのアカウントをお持ちの方は そちらを使うこともできます。プロジェクトの「SUPPORT」ボタンを押すとログイン画面が現れますので、 既存のアカウントを使う場合は「LOG IN」、新しくアカウントを作成する場合は「CREATE ACCOUNT」を クリックしてください。その後、年齢を選択してアカウント作成画面に移ります。メールアドレスと パスワード、生年月日（月/日/年の順なので注意!)、国籍を入力し、規約に同意すると確認メールが 送られます。メールに書かれている6桁の番号を入力すると認証が完了し、最後にニックネームと 規約への同意をチェックして「AGREE」を押します。これでプロジェクトに投票できるようになります。 無事に本プロジェクトへの投票が完了するとボタンが「SUPPORTING」に変わりますので、そうなれば成功です!

What is it?

Moominhouse is the home of the children's fantasy book and comic strip characters, Moomins, created by Finnish author Tove Jansson. The first of the nine Moomin books was published 75 years ago in 1945. Since then the Moomins have also been the focus of many TV series and films, most notably the animated TV series Moomin (1990), which aired in more than 120 different countries and helped sky-rocket the popularity of the Moomins in the 1990's. The Moomins are a global phenomenon, but they're especially popular in Finland and Japan where they're a beloved household name. Both countries have their own Moomin theme park and the Moomin brand and characters can be seen almost anywhere you go.

ムーミン屋敷とは

ムーミンはフィンランドの作家、トーベ・ヤンソンによって書かれた 童話および漫画に登場するキャラクターで、ムーミン屋敷は彼らのすみかです。 ムーミンシリーズには9冊の本があり、最初の本はいまから 75年前の 1945年に書かれました。 以後、ムーミンは多くのテレビや映画に登場しています。おそらくもっともよく知られているのが 1990年に日本で作られたアニメ「楽しいムーミン一家」でしょう。これは世界120カ国以上で 放映され、1990年代のムーミン人気の火付け役となりました。こんにち、ムーミンは世界的に 知られる存在になっていますが、フィンランドおよび日本ではとくに愛されており、 どちらの国もムーミンを題材にしたテーマパークがあり、ムーミンのキャラクターグッズを どこでも見ることができます。
